The short version

  • Our tools run in your browser. Your answers aren't sent to us.
  • The printable system card and the larger-text setting are saved only in your own browser. You can clear them at any time.
  • We only use analytics cookies if you say yes, and you can change your mind using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
  • If you use the contact form, we use what you send only to reply to you.
  • We don't sell your data.

Contact form

If you send us a message through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the subject and your message so that we can reply to you. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: answering the question you asked.

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is sending it. Cloudflare hosts the site, runs Turnstile and delivers the message to our inbox, acting as our processor. We don't add you to any mailing list. We delete contact emails after 12 months.

Analytics

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages help people. Google Signals and advertising features are switched off. If you reject them, or don't choose, Google Analytics isn't loaded. See our cookies page.

Newsletter

The Rowan Letter isn't open yet. When it opens, it'll use double opt-in, and this notice will say which provider we use and how long we keep your email address.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
